WHITE ON WHITE

Harry Winston once said, "People will stare. make it worth their while". Everyone has their own preferences to fit their style and personality. May it be jeans, slacks, halter tops or even tennis skirts. Nothing beats a girl's own taste for fashion. Their passion, too, will not hinder them from being insecure of what they want to wear on a specific day because they abide by their own rules, and it is by being better versions of themselves by showing their fashion sense that portrays it well through simple yet inexpensive clothing. I'd like to take you through this short descriptive blog that will prove that while having a simple mentality towards clothing can still bring you to your greatest attire without feeling down about what people may say about your outfit!

Now, let's talk minimalism! I know, you might be thinking "White-on-white? Pulling off that look is almost impossible!" Well, how about I tell you that this look isn't hard to achieve at all. There are so many ways to pull off a plain t-shirt and a long lettuce hem skirt without looking high maintenance.

Textured faux leather slip-ons are one of the simplest ways to tie together a simple outfit for the summer. Some people might think that you should be on heels while wearing such an elegant outfit. Well, to be honest, you don't need to! It's a symbol of being free with what you feel like wearing on that day and showing the world what kind of person you are from your own fashion sense. You can put on plain colored sneakers like the Adidas Superstar designed by Pharell Williams, or basic strapped flats to put it all together.

And to finish off the look, applying a matte red lip acts as the cherry-on-top for your whole white-on-white attire!

Sophistication is in! Oh yes, what's better than a leather jacket over tons of layers under it? In this look, layering is key. It's as simple as that. You might come to a thought, "Is it not going to be scorching hot while you're under the beaming rays of the sun?" If you were to ask me, I would straight up tell you that it's okay to layer on hot seasons! Why? Because when you have a thin and silky halter top, you'll be fine throughout the day! Not to mention, the color white does not absorb heat unlike how black clothing does. (new learnings everyday, huh?)

Another trick on pulling off a white-on-white attire is to get creative with your footwear! That's right, quirky sneakers does a great job at keeping your outfit looking fresh and lively! Also, blazers go well with any bottom you have stored in your closet: from skirts or plain jeans, to long flowing trousers. Trust me, blazers are life savers from awkward mix and matches! And you don't have to run from store to store just to pair it up with something because I'm pretty sure we all have stock clothes at the very back of our closets, don't we?

Slingbacks. This is the real deal here. What I like about this kind of low-heeled sandals is that it's so versatile that you can wear it out with anything you could think of! You name it, these slingbacks won't let you and your outfit of the day down! This is also a good pick for when you go to events or basic family outings with a white-on-white attire where you just want to look simple yet elegant. Plus, taking long walks with these gorgeous pairs won't let your feet suffer!

Pointed sandals have been around for such a long time, I even recall a photo of my grandmother rocking these kinds of slingbacks back then, and it's time for us to bring the classics back! It's all about simplicity and elegance, I believe. You only need a few posh accessories and bags and you're ready to rock your day!

I'd like to end this with a quote from Coco Chanel, "Simplicity is the key note of all true elegance". I fully agree with this because I, myself, know that being simple with whatever wardrobe you choose will still give off an elegant feel because then again, all of us have our own preferences that would best represent our inner being through beautiful clothing. I want to let as many people as I can know that they don't have to buy expensive clothing just to look good in other peoples' eyes, and that they do not live to impress others anyway, but instead, they live to impress themselves with what they can be with such simple pieces of wardrobes and what kind of story they can portray to the world with every different outfit they go out with. And always remember that fashion is just an instant language to your own personal style!

all the best,
NIKKI
